Overview
Planty is a concept-focused plant shopping experience designed to help users choose the right plant, understand care needs, and feel confident before checkout. The experience balances product discovery, educational guidance, and a low-friction buying flow.
The problem
Plant shopping often feels overwhelming because buyers need to understand care requirements, product match, environment fit and maintenance without a clear guide. The challenge was making the decision feel approachable instead of intimidating.
My role
- Explored the product journey from discovery through purchase, focusing on product storytelling, care guidance, purchase clarity and UI structure.
Context
Plant care is both aspirational and practical. Shoppers want a beautiful product experience, but they also need useful information that reduces uncertainty before they commit to a purchase.
Challenge
Decision confidence
Customers need guidance to feel confident about which plant fits their home and routine.
Care education
Plants require context about maintenance and environment, and that information should feel helpful rather than overwhelming.
Monetization without friction
The shopping flow needs to feel easy, calm and conversion-friendly.
Approach
- 01
Design the shopping journey around confidence, not just product browsing.
- 02
Use guided discovery to make the right plant match feel obvious and supportive.
- 03
Keep care information close to the product decision so it helps rather than distracts.

What I learned
The strongest plant commerce experiences feel supportive, not overwhelming. People buy plants for the life they want to build around them, so the design must help them feel informed and confident before they commit.
